Welcome to our Council web site for fiscal year 2007-2008.
As we expand on this site through out the year, you will find information about our council's activities, fund raisers, our news letter, and more.
Our Council was formed in 1997, so we are celebrating our 10th anniversary this year, so come celebrate it with us by becoming a member of council 12048.
OUR COUNCILS MISSION STATEMENT
The intention and concentration of our Council is to be a dedicated and willing partner to our church while we extend the hand of friendship to our entire parish community. Accordingly, we need to be pro-active as an extended family to each of our members and their loved ones. Moreover, we as Catholic gentlemen must assist in creating a world that is both safe and sane; one where all children can grow and prosper, and to assit through prayer to put an end to abortion, in any form.
WHO ARE THE KNIGHTS
The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men's fraternal benefit society that was formed to render financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works.
The history of the Order shows how the foresight of Father Michael J. McGivney, whose cause for sainthood is being investigated by the Vatican, brought about what has become the world's foremost Catholic fraternal benefit society. The Order has helped families obtain economic security and stability through its life insurance, annuity and long-term care programs, and has contributed time and energy worldwide to service in communities.
The Knights of Columbus has grown from several members in one Council to more than 13,000 councils and 1.7 million members throughout the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, Poland, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Panama, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Guatemala, Guam and Saipan.
